SUMMARY:Dublin's Fall Fiesta
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate local Hispanic culture with a day full of fun and festivities at the 5th Annual Dublin Fall Fiesta.\nStarting at 9 a.m.\, the chefs will gather for the fajita cook-off\, with cooking to start at 10 a.m. and winners to be announced at noon. Teams competing for a trophy and $100 in cash are sponsored by Dublin National Bank\, Lions Club\, First National Bank\, Erath Earth and Golden Age Healthcare Residence. Fajita cookers will also be eligible for jackpot competitions in beans\, salsa and guacamole.\n\nVisitors can also visit food and marketing vendors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A section of the park will be set up for the Christian Women's Job Corps' Will Do Good Thrift Market. \n\nSpace is being provided for $30 for individuals\, businesses and organizations to sell new\, used and handcrafted items amidst the celebration with proceeds benefiting Dwelling Place programs. Call 445-2228 for more information.\n\nAt 10 a.m.\, Dublin Dog Den will host an ugly dog show and dog costume contest (Fiesta or Halloween theme).\n\nAuntie Em's Dancers will perform at 10:30 a.m. Live entertainment will also include live dancers and music as well as dancing horses with professional entertainment provided by the Dublin EDC.\n\nProject Graduation will be hosting a hayride and activities will be provided for kids.\n\nThe Fall Fiesta pageant will return\, with Cynthia Martin\, Maritza Mendoza and Nora Riojas vying for fiesta queen. Competing for fiesta princess are Hiza Maldonado\, Angelique Tamayo\, Alessandro Tamayo\,  M'Kenzie Gaitan\, Abrianna Aguilar and Ximena Lopez. A fiesta baby contest (for kids birth to 2 years) will also be held\, with entry cost being $20 and available at the event.\n\nD&D Rockin' Rods will also be back in town with a car show from noon to 4 p.m. The show is being sponsored by Pat's Auto Sales\, Stone's Auto\, Texas Car Detail\, Dublin Realty and Velasco Car Audio.\n\nKSTV will once again be hosting a remote broadcast during the event and Adan Velasco will act as DJ for the celebration.\n\nDublin Chamber of Commerce Director Luanne Schexnider wants to express her gratitude to all the sponsors offering support for the celebration.\n\n\n\n*Information as presented in an article published by the Dublin Citizen on October 18\, 2017
