Wildfires are a given in Texas!  Here in Erath County we have a moderate to high risk of experiencing a wildfire.  Some area of the county are higher risk than others.  Regardless of the area you live in, the right kind of landscaping can reduce the chance of wildfire damage to your property.

Texas A&M Forest Service knows a lot about fire prevention.  This organization has important guidelines for fire-resistant landscaping that protects properties.  At our next Adventures in Gardening session, Adam Turner, a specialist with Texas A&M Forest Service, will present valuable information on fire wise landscaping.  He'll discuss how a proactive approach to wildfire prevention significantly increases your safety during a catastrophic wildfire.
