Event Description:
Tarleton State University invites the community to join them in celebrating the Grand Opening of the new EECU Center on Thursday, August 21st at 10:00 AM.
Immediately following the ceremony, guests are invited to take a tour of the new facility and visit the Taste of Texas featuring complimentary tastings from a selection of local restaurants.
With the capacity to welcome up to 8,000 for basketball games and nearly 10,000 for concerts, the $130 million two-story multipurpose arena immediately transforms the entertainment options available in Erath County. The EECU Center will host events including NCAA Division I basketball, symposiums, conferences, concerts and conventions. Inaugural events include a performance by comedian Leanne Morgan as part of her “Just Getting Started” tour Sept. 7 and Texas singer-songwriter and Tarleton State alumnus Koe Wetzel returning to campus for a concert Sept. 13. Additional events will be announced soon.
Parking will be available near the baseball fields across Washington Street.
